What is the IA360 Plan?
It is the roadmap the Spanish Government presented on 21 September 2026 for AI deployment over the next 12 months. It covers eight areas — computing infrastructure, home-grown technology development, cybersecurity, talent, education and transformation of public administrations, among others — and includes an AI gigafactory as strategic infrastructure. The Government also announced a multilateral "new social contract" roundtable on AI use for October.
What does the AI voucher cover?
This figure comes from press reporting, not yet an official notice — this article will be updated once there is official confirmation (BOE, digital.gob.es or red.es). Media reports describe an "AI Voucher" for SMEs and the self-employed, disbursed against milestones rather than as a lump sum. The detail that matters most for anyone planning to apply: according to those same reports, the voucher would not cover a plain subscription to AI tool licences — it would fund development, integration, sector expertise, data processing or process redesign delivered by European technology companies. In other words, paying for a chatbot subscription would not qualify; building or integrating a custom AI agent for your business would.
When can it be applied for?
As of 21 September 2026, there is no open call for applications and no published opening date. There is also no provider accreditation scheme for this plan yet — nobody can call themselves an "accredited IA360 provider" today, because that status has not been defined. Is this the same as Kit Digital?
No, they are different programmes. Kit Digital has been running for over two years, with calls by company size (currently closed, pending new rounds with remaining funds). The IA360 Plan is today's announcement, specific to artificial intelligence, with no explicit link to Kit Digital in any official or press source consulted. The reasonable reading is to treat them as independent, potentially stackable schemes — though that is not officially confirmed either.
