What is Kit Digital and how does it apply to AI?
Kit Digital is a Spanish Government grant programme for the digitalisation of SMBs and self-employed workers. Among the eligible categories, several allow you to implement artificial intelligence solutions: process management, e-commerce, virtual office solutions, and especially the Artificial Intelligence and Analytics category.
The maximum eligible amount varies depending on the company segment:
- Segment I (10–49 employees): up to €12,000
- Segment II (3–9 employees): up to €6,000
- Segment III (0–2 employees / self-employed): up to €2,000
Which AI solutions can be funded?
The most relevant categories for implementing AI in your business are:
- Artificial Intelligence and Analytics: data models, prediction, advanced analysis, AI chatbots.
- Process management: task automation, system integration, AI agents for back-office operations.
- Customer management (CRM): AI-powered systems for lead qualification, automatic follow-up and personalisation.
How does the process work?
The process has 4 main steps:
- Apply for the voucher: go to the official website acelerapyme.gob.es and apply for your digital voucher. You will need your company's digital certificate.
- Choose a digitalisation agent: select a company from the official catalogue of digitalisation agents to implement the solution. AizuaLabs is in the process of becoming a certified digitalisation agent.
- Sign the digitalisation agreement: the project scope and implementation timeline are defined.
- Implementation and reporting: the digitalisation agent implements the solution, and the grant is processed directly between the agent and Red.es.
Deadlines and active calls
The Kit Digital programme has periodic calls. It is important to apply for your voucher before the funds allocated to your segment run out — in previous calls, Segment III funds were exhausted within a few weeks.
For Segments I and II, funds are usually available for several months, but we recommend starting the process as soon as possible to allow enough time for implementation.
